What are the most common chronic conditions in african americans?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

As for everyone else: Hypertension tends to be more severe in people of african-american ancestry; the kidneys tend to retain salt better than other folks which was a plus under the deplorable conditions of slavery. This produces a somewhat greater risk to the kidneys. Diabetes, emphysema and coronary artery atherosclerosis are very common as well.
