Likely: However, it may grow thick. You will only know when it grows back. I would recommend applying an antifungal agent to the nail bed as sometimes after injuries to the nail a fungus can grow.....This way you attempt to prevent this from happening.

Most likely: It may or may not grow back thickened and the bond to the nail bed could possibly be weakened a bit. Time will tell.
