Duplex ultrasound : The best way to rule out deep system or superficial clots in the legs is a duplex ultrasound exam. Accurate diagnosis and correct early treatment to avoid serious possible complications. Clots in pelvis or chest will often require additional tests like mrv or venograms. As deeper clots or larger superficial clots near junctions may travel to lungs , early DX & treatment is crucial.
