A member asked:

Can the sun have positive effects on vision?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Most likely: Eyes are adaoted to receive visual information using sunlight as the only light source. A recent striking increase in refractive errors has been attributed to the use of artificial light although the connection requires investigation. Shielding the eyes with sunglasses to protect from uv exposure is probably a good idea, but being outdoors in the sunlight is felt to be a good thing.
