Marfan's syndrome question. do you need echo for aneurysm?

Yes: Marfan patients may develop dilation of the aortic root of the heart easing to aortic valve disease or aortic dissection. A regular cardiovascular check up is advised which usually will include an echocardiogram of the heart.

No..: An echo can show suspicions for aneursyms and can sometimes even show them. The best test, though, is a ct scan with IV contrast. This will give a more complete look at the aorta from the start down to the legs.
