Does having sickle-cell trait affect someone getting a baby?

Shouldn't: Sickle cell trait is generally a benign condition where one carries only one abnormal allele for the hemoglobin beta gene, so they would not have the complications of someone with both alleles - sickle cell disease.

Unsure: If you're asking whether sickle trait makes it harder for you to have a baby, the answer is no. If you're asking whether having this makes it harder for you to adopt a baby, no again. Have an effect on the baby? Possibly. If the other parent has 2 normal beta genes (no s, c, thalassemia) then the baby has a 50% chance of having trait. Partner has a hemoglobin problem too? Talk to your doctor!
