A trip to your doc: First, why are you on suboxone? If you are getting of opiates, you may be having withdrawl. If you are using it for pain control, you might need to change medications.

Call you MD first.: Depending on your particular situation your prescribing md is the person best qualified to advise you. Stop Suboxone and call your md.

Suboxone has Narcan (naloxone): This is an additive that is meant to discourage intravenous use but may cause nausea via direct interaction with intestinal opioid receptors. About 50% of my patients who are nauseous on Suboxone do better on generic subutex which is Buprenorphine without the Narcan (naloxone) (noloxone) unfortunately, the other 50% are reacting to the Buprenorphine component and need to find another treatment.

A couple of ideas: First, check with your doctor, for my patients with GI distress, i recommend a few things. I advise all of my patients to spit out the juices and not swallow them. They are deactivated when you swallow them anyway. Next, it is not uncommon for patients to feel ill if they take too high of a dose at once. Finally, i often suggest not taking the subxone on an empty stomach. Could you be pregnant?
