Callus: You may have a cyst or a callus, either of which would be inflamed or infected. I would get it checked as soon as you can.

Possible abscess: You would want to have this checked out by your podiatrist as this may be an abscess or infected corn or some type of growth that may need to be removed.

See a podiatrist: A "lump" is not something to play around with. Better safe than sorry. You may have an inflammed corn. This would be something benign and easily treatable. However, without being able to see it and because you used the word "lump"it warrants an inspection by a doctor.
