What is hemicrania continua? if indocin (indomethacin) does not relieve the pain, do i have any other options?

1-sided headache : Hemicrania = headache on one side; continua means prolonged/continuous pain. Indocin belongs to the antiinflammatory meds and it is often first choice, but does not work for everyone. There are other classes used for this: calcium chanel blockers (i.E verapamil), steroids (prednisone), acetazolamide, and topamax (topiramate) have been used successfully in many patients. So, consult doc. Good luck.

Headaches: Hemicrania continua, or continuous headache, is a rare type of headache that does not stop. It usually responds well to non steroidal anti-inflammatory medications. If Indomethacin is not effective, another nsaids like celebrex, or tca like Amitriptyline or anti-seizure like Lyrica (pregabalin) might be helpful. Please see a headache specialist for evaluation.
