A member asked:

Why do so many people get cancer?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

We are living longer: God question. Control for smoking and the fact that we're living longer, and there's no "cancer epidemic". It results from the inevitable damage to genes accumulating over a lifetime, and thus cancer will develop sooner or later in multicellular organisms that live long enough. More important is how to detect and cure it; the cancer death rate is half of what it was when i was a kid.
