What is the prognosis for a 65 white male diagnosed with stage 2 b-cell lymphoma?

It depends: There are several types of b cell lymphomas. With stage 2 disease most have a very good prognosis. The type of this lymphoma helps with treatment plan and prognosis. You want to ask the type and if it is indolent, intermediate or high grade. The oncologist should be able to explain the meaning of that for you.

Need to know subtype: The prognosis for patients with lymphoma is highly dependent on the subtype of lymphoma which they have. For diffuse large b-cell lymphoma, the most common lymphoma in north america the prognosis for stage ii is excellent with a good chance of cure. For follicular lymphoma, the 2nd most common nodal lymphoma the prognosis is also quite good.
