Sorry: I am not sure what you mean by a sinus plate. Could you be more specific? I can reassure you that a middle ear infection does not cause sinusitis. It is true however at age 31 that a viral infection in the nose and back of the nose can lead to a simultaneous infection in the paranasal sinuses and the middle ear. But middle ear
infections always start in the back of the nose.
