How eyes move: From birth, eyes should move together to look at things. By 1 month, baby will want to look at your face. By two months, baby's eyes will follow your face if you move around, and by 4 months baby will be able to look at and focus on you from across the room.

Tracking problems: By two to three months, most infants can track an object with their eyes across the midline (usually a parent's face or an interesting toy). Infants who are not tracking past the midline should be evaluated. Other symptoms to be concerned about would be the appearance of a "lazy eye" or the appearance of an abnormal red light reflex in pictures.

Baby: Check for crossing eyes, abnormal reflex on photos, or lazy eyes that drift outward. If any of these show up, see your pediatrician and a pediatric ophthalmologist.
