See below: For young infants younger than 4-6 weeks, RSV infection may produce minimal respiratory symptom. Instead, lethargy, irritability, poor feeding, sometimes accompanied by apneic episodes ( brief cessation of breathing), may be the presenting signs. Infants older than 4 weeks often develop noticeable nasal discharge followed by wheezing and chest congestion, usually lasting a week.
