Jock itch: Tinea cruris is fungal infection of groin where conditions are perfect for fungal growth: warm, dark, moist. Keep dry by changing underwear often; use talcum powder or powdered athlete's foot spray to dry area (no cornstarch: it feeds fungus). Sanitize underwear/jocks/towels/swimwear to prevent reinfxn. Use Lamisil (terbinafine) twice a day until rash is gone at least a week.

Antifungal: Amtifungals such as lotrimin, micatin, lamisil, (terbinafine) undecalynic acid can be used to treat jock itich. Sweating and poor skin turgor contribute to the condition and to recurrences.

Antifungal creams: Most "jock-itch" is a superficial fungal infection of the skin in the groin area. If this is the case, many athlete's foot remedies will work here as well. The ones to try first are lotrimin ultra or Lamisil (terbinafine) cream. If it is because of yeast infection, use Nystatin cream.
