How could a gynecologist help me?

In many ways: Seeing your gyn every year is a good idea. Though there are discussions in the literature about the need for yearly pap smears, it is prudent to see your gyn for a complete breast and pelvic exam, as well as to review your needs re: birth control, calcium/ vit d intake, breast self exam, diet, exercise, and to have a second set of eyes, in addition to your pmd, to evaluate you for non-gyn issues.
