A member asked:

How can i tell if a surgery is routine or actually difficult?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

That's tough.: If your surgeon tells you it's routine, it probably is, because most surgeons like to tell you how difficult it will be so that when it's over you will keep them on the pedestal on which they have placed themselves. But if he says it's difficult, there is no way to know for sure other than perhaps to ask an uninvolved objective surgeon.
