No: You should not breast feed if you have hiv. Hiv can be transmitted to your baby that way. The risk is probably very low if you're on effective treatment, but it's still safer to use formula.

No: In the US, where there are acceptable alternatives, you cannot take the risk of passing this to your baby by breastfeeding. If you lived in sub-Saharan Africa with no access to safe water or formula, it would be the only available way to keep baby alive and the risk considered reasonable.
