Depends on hospital: You should make every attempt to be treated at a hospital where the providers make this their specialty. A medical doctor should make rounds on you every day, just as with every other severe medical illness requiring hospitalization. Your intake should be monitored and controlled by your team, not by you. If you could control your intake, you would not need hospitalization.
