Varies: Everybody heals at different rates. It depends on how bad your infection is to begin with. Mild symptoms usually go away faster than severe symptoms. Also, it depends on how susceptible the bacteria is to the antibiotic. Pyelonephritis usually requires antibiotics for 2 weeks, but you usually feel better a few days after being treated.

Acute pyelonephritis: Clinically with proper antibiotic therapy weeks. Antibiotic therapy may be seven to fourteen days depending on health of individual and type of bacteria.Pyelonephritis affecting cortex of kidney may take 6 months to entirely heal in children as far as normal anatomy of kidney.
