Avoid sick kids!: One of the most important things in caring for a premie is to be sure he/she is avoiding exposure to other sick children who can transmit illness. Premies are more susceptible to illnesses (especially respiratory infections) than term babies. Also, premies may be a bit slower to achieve the age-expected developmental milestones, so be in contact with your doctor to make sure things are on track.
