Missing chromosome X: Affected women have only one chromosome x (instead of the normal two); the syndrome is associated with cardiac defects (coarctation of the aorta, hypoplastic left heart syndrome), infertility and normal intelligence. A famous actress with this syndrome: linda hunt (pictured to the right).
