Hematologist: Please take your child to see a pediatric hematologist (blood specialist). There is a list of food and medication to avoid as well as recommendations for supplementation. I will also refer your question to my hematology colleagues.

Avoid: Favism is a reaction where hemolysis or breakdown of red blood cells occur with this ingestion of fava beans. This can cause severe, even life threatening anemia. All these patients have an enzyme deficiecy called g6pd where there are other triggers for this anemia.See a hematologist or your pediatrician for advice.
