Infectious disease: How about rocky mountain spotted fever & lyme disease from tic bites? Or meningitis from viruses transmitted by the bites of mosquitos? Or everyone's favorite, malaria, also transmitted by mosquito bites, but caused by a spirochete, a kind of bacteria, not a virus.
