Depends: The best way to take your resting heart rate is as soon as you wake up in the morning while still on the bed. Normal heart rate is between 60-100 bpm. Deconditioning and other problems can make your heart rate go up with minimal exertion. The best way to find out is seeing your physician: he will determine if you need more testing, usually an ekg is the first step.
