Razor bumps: Look further to educate yourself on psuedofolliculitis barbae. Shaving too close, as with the use of regular razors, lifts the hair up away from the surface of the skin, and then cuts it. This drops the remainder of the hair below the surface of the skin. Smooth shave for most, but disastrous for those of us with a curl to our hair. The hair then grows and curls beneath the surface causing bumps.
