Thyroid med -coffee: Best to take thyroid medication on empty stomach first thing in the am without anything except some sips of water. Usually do not take anything by mouth afterwards for at least 30 minutes. Some doctors ask you to wait an hour or more. The reason is that the dosage is so tiny that almost everything can interfere with the absorption.
