What is celiac disease? is it curable?

Celiac disease: Celiac is an autoimmune condition in which your body makes antibodies against the small intestine; it causes malabsorption of food and often chronic diarrhea, anemia, or occasionally abnormal liver function. The treatment is simply to avoid gluten in foods, but this is not a simple diet to follow.

Gluten enteropathy: This is a condition sort of like rheumatoid arthritis. In celiac, people develop antibodies to some of the proteins in wheat/barley/rye (gluten) that attack the intestine and cause injury to the tissue. Symptoms can very from very mild to terrible. There is no cure, but close adherence to a gluten free diet can reduce ongoing damage. Many will also have related food intolerances to non gluten items
