Testing: The gold standard for cd diagnosis has been cited as an intestinal biopsy. A variety of blood tests showing elevated levels of immunoglobulins to tissue transglutaminase and gluten are often a first stage of the investigation. Improvement and reversal of biopsy abnormalities by a gluten free diet is also considered part of the diagnostic criteria.
