Inflammation: migraine begins with stimulation of the migraine driver in the brainstem. this causes the release of inflammatory neurotransmitters which in turn cause inflammation of blood vessel walls, limiting blood flow through those vessels and causing inflammation of structures of the brain, including center for vision, receiving sound, areas controlling motor movement and sensation.
