No: Around 5% of folks have, or have had, tinea versicolor if you look really hard. The little fungi that cause it are almost as ubiquitous as the bacteria that cause acne, and they seem to like living on some folks more than others. An extreme flare in seborrheic dermatitis, caused by the same fungus, is one of many warnings of HIV infection, but it looks different from common tinea versicolor.
