Is it safe to take sibutramine and sertraline at the same time?

Usually : You should make sure the prescribing physicians are aware you are combining these. While it is generally safe to use the medications in combination, there is a slight risk of developing serotonin syndrome. Serotonin syndrome is characterized by restlessness, diarrhea, rapid heart beat, confusion, sweating/fever, nausea/vomiting, loss of coordination, and blood pressure changes.

NO: I would not suggest taking sibtramine at all. The manufacturer stopped producing sibutramine because a clinical study showed that users of it had an increased risk of cardiovascular events such as heart attack and stroke. It is no longer available in the us, and you should not be using it. Please with your doctor about this, and other options for weight control.
