Care of hemorrhoids: Hemorrhoids are dilation and swelling of the expandable tissue around the rectal opening. Non operative treatment recommended, and includes bowel regimen (fiber, stool softners, laxatices to goal of 2 soft bowel movements daily) local sauves (prep h, desitin, (zinc oxide diaper cream) anti fungals, other) and hygiene (shower, hair dryer area daily). Surgery only if above fails. Post op pain is expected, manageable.
