EBV (Mono virus) : Yes, this is a virus that is never cleared completely from our bodies. Not everyone gets classic symptoms of infectious mononucleosis. About 80% of college age adults have positive antibodies even though they never had symptoms of mono. Lifelong carriage is true of other viruses also, including herpes (HSV), and chicken pox (HZV). These viruses may reactivated when the immune system is weakened.
