No, it is fatal: Rabies is a fatal disease. Prevention before or after exposure is the only way to not develop rabies and die. Years ago, doctors could say nobody ever survived rabies. With modern rabies shots, there are now a few (less than 10) people who actually survived rabies, but I do not know if those survivors are brain-damaged or not.
