Palliative care: At its best, palliative care is holistic by definition. The team works with the patient on all levels -- physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. Certainly they work with pain and other symptom control; mind-body interventions such as guided imagery are possible too. Energy medicine treatments such as reiki and healing touch. Aromatherapy and music therapy, plus pet-assisted therapies also.
