Can you get an upper respiratory infection from a puppy?

No: This is not likely. Occassionally animal borne diseases can affect humans. Respiratory infections in dogs/cats are not spread to humans.

Allergies: Sounds like you may have allergies to the dog. Try an over the counter allergy medicine like loratidine or cetirizine. They may cause some sedation even though they are non or low sedating formulas. There are other allergy treatments available by prescription from our medical provider.
