A member asked:

What is the most common fix if a baby is born with a semi-large hole in their heart?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It depends: It depends on the location of the defect of the heart. Some "holes" will close significantly on their own and do no require intervention. Depending on the magnitude and location of the hole, one might watch the patient for several years or attempt a catheter or surgical closure.
