Can you die from rubella?

Almost never: However, it is several days of misery, and if you are pregnant, it is likely that your unborn child will end up blind and/or deaf and/or seriously deformed and/or mentally handicapped. Before immunization, when one girl in a community came down with "german measles", all the other girls would be invited to a slumber party with her in hopes they'd catch it and thus be immune.

If you are a fetus: Except for disease in a fetus acquired from the mother in the first trimester of pregnancy, rubella is a mild disease without any serious issues.
