A member asked:

Is it normal to experience a lot of bleeding after an implant of an iud?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes with paragard: It is more common for periods to become heavier after copper iud. Mirena (levonorgestrel) iud is supposed to do the opposite, i.e. Have to have fewer periods upto only 4 per year. Severe bleeding can be a complication of copper iud sometimes.
