A member asked:

My daughter has something under her skin; maybe an old splinter; any examination needed?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Only if painful: Usually the body will just absorb the splinter although it may take several months. However, if it hurts or is showing signs of infection (redness, pus), she should be seen.
