Is it possible to use epsom salt as an antacid?

Not likely: Epsom salt, or magnesium sulfate, has numerous uses in medicine, but i've never used it for an antacid nor have i heard of it being used as so...Magnesium carbonate is a basic compound that can be used as an antacid.
