Can people affected with epstein-barr virus donate bone marrow ?

Yes: The majority of the adult population have had epstein-barr infection (mononucleosis) and have positive serological markers of past infection, but are not infective.They can be bone marrow donors, but should not be actively infected and shedding virus.

Not likely: If you have chronic ebv viremia, you should not be donating any blood products including bone marrow or stem cells since the viremia could be transmitted to the recipient. Remember, though, that most of us have had exposure to ebv at some point in their life and so have circulating antibodies and only a few of us have the chronic viremia.
