NO: Home remedies are not nearly as effective as prescriptions. Clobetasol cream will reduce itching and swelling. It will reduce the healing time. If there is severe facial swelling or if there is extensive blistering, use Prednisone 50 mg alternate days for 3 or 4 doses. You still need a 60 g tube of clobetasole. The cream is not toxic and the dermatitis is not contagious.
