A member asked:

What is the best home remedy if you suspect you have come into contact with poison ivy and can't get medical attention?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Wash and steroid: Wash the contact area thoroughly, apply a topical steroid cream such as Hydrocortisone and avoid direct contact with clothes worn when the ivy contact happened. Wear a rubber glove to avoid direct contact with the clothes and wash them thoroughly. If the symptoms worsen, see a doctor.
