A member asked:

Is it possible to become allergic to apples, even if you weren't allergic before?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: Most people who are allergic to apples have bad seasonal allergies as well. Typically, their fruit allergy results in itching of the mouth, throat and lips, as well as a sense of tingling swelling and other similar symptoms. My experience is that these fruit allergy symptoms tend to develop in teenage years or later even if seasonal allergies were already present. Many fruits can cause it.
