Maybe nothing: The term occulta means that the finding was an incidental discovery during x-ray of your spine. It can be a normal variant with no clinical significance. Or - it could be associated with bladder problems, constipation, and tendency for pain in buttocks area. It can be associated with tethered cord.

Abnormal bone: Spina bifida occulta is when the back part of the individual vertebrae is not fused together. It is the mildest form of spina bifida, and many may have it and never know it. It is only of significance if having spine surgery then the surgeon needs to know its there.
