Need evaluation: To answer this question, you need a complete evaluation by a psychiatrist. S/he would need to take an extensive history, do a detailed mental status exam, and also hear from your spouse, family, or other close companions regarding these concerns. Generally an MRI scan would also be done, along with lab studies to rule out other medical conditions that cause dementia-like symptoms.
