There are many causes, reflecting synthetic dysfunction, consumption, inappropriate destruction or a combination of these. Hereditary causes are rare but do occur (camt, was, bernard soullier syndrome, etc.). We can treat many causes with meds and/or transfusions. Congenital forms may require stem cell transplant.
