Eye warning signs: Some warning signs to look out for include: any decreased vision, redness, pain, sensitivity to light, double vision, tearing, and discharge. However, since you're concerned that you've done serious damage to your eye somehow, even if you're experiencing *none* of these symptoms, you should see an ophthalmologist, since some eye problems have no symptoms in the early stages.
